Serviced Apartments in South Kensington

Deciding on where to stay in London can be difficult choice, with so many different areas and forms of accommodation to choose from. West London’s affluent and prosperous South Kensington area provides guests with a quiet and peaceful area to relax and unwind. The district is largely known for being home to the city’s iconic Museum District, but it also accommodates large swathes of welcoming residential areas.

South Kensington combines the elegance and stylishness of London’s exclusive inner-city areas with the vibrancy of the city’s more animated districts. Gloucester Road – one of South Kensington’s main arteries – provides visitors with an abundance of bars, cafes, bistros and chic boutiques. High-profile shopping areas such as Knightsbridge and Kensington High Street are both also desirably close by.

Our South Kensington portfolio offers guests serviced apartments that blend refined, contemporary interiors with charming, historic exteriors. These apartments provide guests with an array of modern conveniences and offer the ideal home away from home.

Staying in South Kensington

Situated within the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, South Kensington is a historic part of the city that is frequently visited by tourists from all around the globe. The district was created in 1863 when it was decided that Kensington should be divided up into a number of different areas. It is generally thought, however, that South Kensington is certainly one of west London’s more notable areas.

Guests will be able to visit London’s infamous Museum District and immerse themselves in a vast wealth of history and culture. The Victoria and Albert Museum is a high-profile cultural institution that highlights the history of art and design, and the Natural History Museum offers free exhibitions and displays that stretch as far back as the mysterious Jurassic period. The Royal Albert Hall is also just a short walk away and is well worth a trip!

For those looking for a laid back area to go for dinner or a few drinks, the area around the South Kensington tube station is awash with a host of charming amenities. Kensington Gardens can also be found close by and Holland Park is certainly worth visiting too.

Where is South Kensington in London?

Along with north Kensington, west Kensington and Kensington High Street, South Kensington forms one part of the district that was once simply known as Kensington. The district is desirably situated in between Chelsea, Belgravia, Knightsbridge and Fulham.

South Kensington is straddled by a number of busy A roads. To the north, the A315 cuts through central Kensington a skirts round Hyde Park before going on into Knightsbridge. Cromwell Road scythes its way straight through South Kensington, past the Natural History Museum, before linking up with Brompton Road in Knightsbridge.

Things to do in South Kensington

Away from the district’s highly-esteemed cultural institutions, there are also a number of other things to do and see in South Kensington. Harrods – London’s famed department store – is within easy reach and the Harvey Nichols department store is also nearby. Kensington High Street is also a great place to find a bargain.

For those interested in design, the Leighton House Museum provides guests with access to a fascinating Victorian home that features a stunning interior design. The museum includes a remarkable collection of sculptures and works of art. Leighton House is often referred to as a ‘palace of art’ and even features a stunning Arab Hall that is well-known for its intricate Islamic design.

Places to eat in South Kensington

When it comes to eating out in South Kensington, visitors will find a district that is home to a fusion of different cultures. In addition to the area accommodating London’s diverse, cosmopolitan ethos, South Kensington also enjoys a strong French influence. The capital is thought to have a French population of over 250,000 and this has had a positive impact on the city’s restaurant and café culture.

One French restaurant certainly worth visiting is Margaux, a classy bistro and wine bar that offers a number of French and European delicacies. In addition to the mouth-watering menus, Margaux is also sleek, stylish and smartly decorated. This little haunt is the ideal place for a quiet bite or a romantic rendezvous.

The Town House Kensington offers a complete fine dining experience within an elegant, period setting. This iconic local establishment puts a strong emphasis on quality of food and guests will be able to enjoy British delicacies such as afternoon tea.
