Borough Market

Borough Market is one of London’s oldest food markets. Situated in Southwark close to the banks of the Thames, the market is thought to date back to the 12th century – however, the buildings we see today were constructed much later in the 19th century.

However, the market’s rich history is only part of the appeal. With London having changed so much over the course of the last few decades, the market has evolved with the city and offers an ever-changing array of local and international produce.

Take a walk around the market’s colourful array of stalls and Art Deco shops and you’ll find a perfect microcosm of London itself. You’ll be able to sink your teeth into mouth-watering Levantine-inspired cuisine or pay a visit to Chegworth Valley for fresh produce from Kent. The market is complete with florists, spirit merchants and fruit and veg stalls.
