Canary Wharf, CENTRAL LONDON APARTMENTS

Serviced Apartments in Canary Wharf

On the surface Canary Wharf resembles London’s lively financial core; sleek, towering skyscrapers make up the dizzying city skyline and busy city workers populate the entire area during weekdays. Canary Wharf is steeped in history and with a number of attractions on offer, there is much more than meets the eye.

Canary Wharf is an area that has become synonymous with style and luxury, and our handpicked serviced apartments perfectly reflect the class and style of the surrounding area.

All of our apartments are situated in desirable areas, tucked away close to a range of amenities and an array of some of the district’s biggest sights and attractions.

Staying in Canary Wharf

Those staying in Canary Wharf will find themselves in a vibrant district unlike no other. Peaceful parks and green spaces mark the space between architecturally stunning skyscrapers, and dockside restaurants provide an ideal spot for romantics looking for a bite to eat.

One Canada Square – once the United Kingdom’s tallest skyscraper – and its neighbouring corporate high-rises take the limelight in the area, although tourists are also drawn to the area’s other charms.

One of the district’s biggest tourist draws is the history behind it. Now very much a famed landmark in itself, the development of the Canary Wharf of today began as late as the 1990s. Historically, Canary Wharf – formally known as the Docklands – was a thriving hub of industry, operating as one of the busiest docks in the world.

Following the mass closure of the docks in the 1980s, the Docklands endured a lengthy period of urban renewal before it emerged as one of the London’s two biggest financial hubs, the other being the City of London.

Where is Canary Wharf in London?

Canary Wharf is part of the greater Isle of Dogs area and is situated within the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. The Isle of Dogs is shaped by one of the largest meanders in the River Thames and the riverside can be easily reached to the east, west and south.

The district is served by a range of different public transport services. East London’s DLR network winds its way between the corporate skyscrapers and provides visitors with unparalleled views as well as access to other areas of east London. Canary Wharf is also served by small river ferries known as Thames Clippers that offer an alternative form of transport around London.

Canary Wharf tube station offers access to central areas of London via the Jubilee Line, while the same line’s westbound services will take visitors to Stratford where they will find the colossal Westfield shopping mall.

Things to do in Canary Wharf

The Museum of London Docklands is a fascinating cultural institution situated within a grade I listed 19th century Georgian sugar warehouse that is thought to date back to 1802. Through a series of exhibits and displays, the museum tells the story of the growth of the Docklands area and provides a historic insight into one of London’s most intriguing areas.

The district’s Everyman Cinema – situated in the Crossrail Place development – is a popular entertainment venue that aims to provide a unique cinematic experience for all customers, with its stylish interior design receiving almost as many plaudits as the screenings on offer.

Also found within Canary Wharf’s Crossrail Place development is a stunning roof garden. The garden is home to a diverse collection of plant life and doubles up as a 60 seater performance space.

Places to eat in Canary Wharf

When it comes to dining out in Canary Wharf, there is a varied range of restaurants and local eateries dotted about that range from Argentinian steakhouses, to elegant Italian restaurants, to kooky bistros.

Those keen on fine dining should head over to the Plateau Restaurant, a penthouse establishment offering an array of delicious dishes and fantastic views of the surrounding area. The interior is glitzy and smartly presented and visitors are given the choice of two dining areas, a relaxed bar and grill or a more refined restaurant.

For those who are more into a laid back atmosphere where they can grab a pint and quick bite, Giant Robot is certainly worth checking out. Another attribute of the vibrant Crossrail Place development, this quirky bar is well known for its mouth-watering street food menu.
