What’s the most important meal of the day? Brunch, of course. When breakfast doesn’t quite cut it, and lunch feels like an eternity away, brunch provides the perfect in-between solution.
We Londoners are all too familiar with the concept of brunch, and, like many, enjoy it mid-morning on the weekend with close friends. Essentially a hybrid meal, it consists of popular breakfast items like eggs, bacon and pancakes, and is typically consumed between the hours of 11am and 3pm.
Some take their brunch “bottomless” with a glass of champagne; others with a stiff Bloody Mary. As author Guy Berger once wrote in his 1895 article, ‘Brunch: A Plea’: “[Brunch] puts you in a good temper, it makes you satisfied with yourself and your fellow beings, and it sweeps away the worries and cobwebs of the week.”
So, on that note, here are some top brunch spots in London, as recommended by our lovely staff members.
