It’s all a short walk away from your apartment, with Borough tube a couple minutes away taking you to Bank station in two stops and the central line giving you access to the West End. The acclaimed Borough Market is close to the apartment, make sure you go with an empty stomach as there is plenty to tempt you! There are more foodie treats in the restaurants and cafès along trendy Bermondsey Street, here you’ll also find independent retailers selling everything from handmade chocolate, toys and antiques. This eclectic area has plenty of culture going on with the hip Whitecube Gallery on Bermondsey Street, theatres such as Southwark Playhouse as well as the Shortwave Cinema showing arthouse films. There are also a couple of interesting museums in this area, one of which is the Fashion and Textiles Museum and the other is the Old Operating Theatre Museum - if you visit when there is a talk going on you’ll hear more about the Victorian medical practices in gory detail! Some of London’s best known attractions are not far from the apartments, a stroll along the Thames and you’ll come across the famous Tower Bridge, with the Tower of London across the river. The earlier in the day you can visit this popular attraction the better as the queues build up throughout the day. If you take a different direction along the river from the apartment and cross over on the Millennium Foot Bridge, this takes you over to St Paul’s Cathedral, another of London’s iconic sights.
Only two minutes from the apartment is Borough tube station, Bank station is two stops away and the central line taking you to the West End. The nearest train station is London Bridge, ten minutes walk away, here you can reach destinations around the South East and catch the direct train through to Gatwick Airport.
