I chose 20 Hertford st. apartment for the location. close to Hyde park and 15-30 minutes walk to most major shopping and touristic attractions. My family and I loved the spacious 2 bedroom apartment. Comfortable and great for a family of 5. But the studio (or bedroom) left a lot to be desired. Its enough for a single adult traveling to London for a couple of days, but not convenient for a couple on a romantic getaway. In all, my adult (male) cousins enjoyed the privacy they got staying in the studio (which they thought was a little bit on the small size), but spent most of their time next door with us in the 2 bedroom apartment.

We found this apartment to be in a fantastic location, the apartment was bright spacious and well decorated and we would definitely stay here again.
The only small complaints I would have are the beds are a little "firm" and a simple instruction sheet for the washing machine would be helpful.

Would Recommend?:
We loved the apartment. It was clean, spacious, had everything we needed and the service was great. We were withing walking distance of Hyde Park, the Underground, Piccadilly Circus, Buckingham Palace and more. It is a very secure building. It was a safe area to walk around. I would recommend this apartment to someone wanting a base in London, not far from everything.

The apartment was short of crockery and on complementary toiletries. There was no information folder on how to use the phone, contact reception etc. the lift was antiquated and very small. Otherwise, the apartment was in a secure building close to everything and was well maintained and very comfortable. We would be happy to stay there again.

Excellent apartment for stay with older children. Staff were most responsive to our needs with one minor housekeeping exception. Competitive pricing for this area of London. Would not hesitate to stay here again!

We had a lovely stay, it's a very spacious and clean apartment with a huge television! We encountered one problem, we couldn't close the twin bedroom patio door as the lock seemed old, however we raised this issue with the receptionist so hopefully this will be fixed for the next guests.

Our 2 bedroom apartment was perfect for us and our 3 children (the eldest slept on the comfortable sofa lounge) during our 6 night stay. The Reception in Shepherd St and the chap at 20 Hertford Street were very friendly and helpful. My favourite things:
1. Location - short stroll to Hyde Park, Tesco Express, Underground, Cafes, shopping at Oxford and Piccadilly Circus.
2. Interior Design - from the coffee cups and glasses to the bathtub, chandelier, carpet, DVD and CD collection! Lux curtains, rug, marble fireplace. Plus the three TV's with lots of channels were a big hit with the family when we where home relaxing. The three toilets were handy too.
3. Quiet location. We slept very well here. We weren't disturbed by street noise or other residents at all.
4. The salt water aquarium at reception has to be seen to be believed!

1 Hooks to hang ones outdoor coats ,near the door.It was untidy just hanging them over the nearest chair.
2 A coffee table in the living room area-essential for refrshments particularly while watching TV or entertaining friends.I did ask for one ,which was supplied ,but feel this shoud be standard.
3 There should be two bedside tables instead of just one.
4 The very pleasant reception staff at no 20 ( just there from 9am until 6pm) should have a mobile phone .If they are away from the desk landline and the phone rings it does not get answered and they then cannot put calls through to the flats.Actually for flats at that price direct lines to each flat should ,I believe , be standard especially as the phone is not attended between 6pm and 9 am
4The lift is dangerous and unreliable.It is no use the staff just explaining the vagaries.People will not close the inner door properly ,and it needs a lot of attention with a door fitted that does close automatically.There were times when it stopped between floors which if it was in the nightime with no help available would be most dangerous.Also when the lift was not working the walk to the fourth floor was extremely difficult for a man of my age ,70 years ,with bad knees.
However I enjoyed my stay -the young men at the reception were always polite and helpful and the cleaning staff were courteosu ,hard working and honest.
